What made you get into triathlon? I like riding and running but there’s not enough duathlons around.

Interests outside triathlon: Eat and sleep

Favorite food: Pasta (and lots of it)

Current or Future Goals: Obtain my Pro license, start winning some races and give back to the sport

Favorite Training Session: Hills ride with the boys or a track run by my self.

What made you get into triathlon?Through adventure racing with my best mate Andrew Tyack

Interests outside triathlon:Women, poetry, rich mahogany bookshelves, pretty much any sport ever invented, finding the perfect pink donut and chicken parmy (not necessarily together), road trips and practicing magnum

Favorite food:pink donuts and chicken parmy

If I wasn’t training, I’d be ….. sleeping, oh how i miss sleep….

Name:Jaz Hedgeland

Occupation: High School Student

Years in Triathlon:7 years (including Trystars)

Best Result: 3rd place at the School Sport Australia National Triathlon Championships 2010 in Adelaide, in my age group (intermediate 15-16 girls)

Current or Future Goals: to place at Nationals again in 2011 and for the future, just continue doing triathlons and see where it takes me.

Favorite Training Session: I like them all because you have a variety of disciplines.

What made you get into triathlon?I saw it on the olympics on TV and wanted to have a go.

Interests outside triathlon: well since triathlons got serious, I had to ditch everything else to fit in training. So not much besides spending time with my family, friends and dog, going on holidays, and photography.

Favorite food: everything from chocolate to tuna mornay. But I do really like potatoes.

If I wasn’t training, I’d be ….. having a very relaxed and social life and my friends wouldn’t call me crazy waking up at 5am in the morning, but I would also be extremely bored and have no excuse not to do homework.

What is your favorite sporting moment of all time? Canada winning the Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Gold at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

What is the most difficult training session you remember?Interval running: warm-up; 6 x 1km; 6 x 400m; 4 x 1km; 4 x 400m; then running home before Ironman NZ.
